1. Does WowOption replace Shopify variants?
No. WowOption does not replace Shopify's native variants. Instead, it extends them by allowing you to add unlimited custom product options beyond Shopify's 3-option / 100-variant limit. Your original variants (like size or color) remain unchanged and WowOption adds flexible product page variations on top of them.

2. How are custom options saved in the order?
Customer selections are saved as line item properties in the Shopify order details. This means:

  • You can see all selected custom options inside the order
  • The information is available in order confirmation emails
  • It appears in the Shopify admin
  • It can be exported with order data
  • No new variants or SKUs are created.

3. Can I charge extra for custom options?
Yes. WowOption allows you to create flexible custom price options. You can:

  • Add fixed price add-ons
  • Charge percentage-based pricing
  • Charge per character or per word (great for engraving)
  • Add pricing to dropdowns, swatches, uploads, and other fields
  • This helps increase average order value through smart add-on options.

4. Can I show or hide options based on customer selection?
Yes. You can use conditional logic to dynamically show or hide fields based on what the customer selects. For example:

  • Show engraving text field only if "Add Engraving" is selected
  • Display file upload only when "Upload Logo" is chosen
  • Hide certain options for specific product variations
  • This keeps your product page clean and user-friendly.

5. Will WowOption slow down my product page?
WowOption is optimized to load efficiently within your Shopify theme. Options are rendered dynamically without duplicating variants or creating complex SKU structures. Proper setup and clean option structuring (using groups and logic) ensures smooth performance.

6. Do I need coding knowledge to use WowOption?
No coding is required. WowOption is designed for merchants. You can:
